Sola Fide

On Sunday mornings our church is studying the Five Solas of the Reformation, and this past week we were on sola fide - faith alone. A quick excerpt:

Faith is simply this: believing that the work of Christ would do all that God said it will do...

What if God said that the work that Christ came to do on the cross was to suffer and take the punishment that I deserve?

What if God said that the work that Christ came to do was in his life keep the law that I could never keep?

What if God said that the work that Christ came to do was to step into that courtroom when I was justly condemned and to take my place so that I might step into Heaven accepted by the Father and take His?
