Anniversary Getaway at Lake Guntersville
This past weekend, Luke and I took a much needed anniversary getaway to Lake Guntersville State Park where we stayed at the Lodge. It was beautiful and relaxing - who knew Alabama had a state park with such great lodgings!

We decided to hike some of the trails... after some time wandering around, we finally found the trail we were looking for.
Then saw a huge group deer running around - I don't know if you can see this but they're staring right at us.
We had some difficulty following the trailblazes on the trees that defined the trail. In between these confusions, we were able to see some beautiful parts of the park.
Some of which had us hiking through areas like this. Thus, the "moderate" difficulty hike left us pretty worn out.
Once again, difficulty following trails and poor mapping lead to some confusion and frequent map breaks (note that we are supposed to be in the woods at this point, not standing confused next to the road).
We had a fantastic time hiking the trails. Although, the short "moderate" hike left us pooped, and we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool and reading overlooking the lake. Overall, I could not have asked for a better weekend!
