Rotation 6

Back to work again. Today was my first day back at Baptist South - this time in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) with a pediatric pharmacist. These patients are definitely fun - so tiny yet full of personality! I've never been around babies this small, so it was fascinating just to watch them! I was able to watch a nurse insert a central IV line in one of the babies - I found the baby's reaction so amusing. He kept looking at us as if to say "stop messing with me!" - he'd fuss and whine as the nurse prodded him then immediately fall asleep (until she prodded him again, of course).

15 weeks of rotations left until graduation!!! And this is officially my last rotation in Montgomery. The next one is in Auburn. Today I got my last rotation switched from CVS in Montgomery to an independent pharmacy in Dadeville (more like 20-30 minutes from home instead of the 1 hour drive to Montgomery, which I will not miss at all). I've heard independent pharmacy and chain pharmacies are very different, so I'm excited to see if independent pharmacy is something that I'm interested in!
